The Meaning Behind Kairus

Kairus Risk Managers is inspired by “kairos”—a Greek word describing the right, critical, or opportune moment to take meaningful action. Unlike “chronos” (measurable time), kairos refers to purposeful timing—the moment when preparation meets necessity and action creates the greatest impact.

The ancient Greeks often depicted kairos as a figure carrying a scale and a razor’s edge, symbolizing:

  • Balance in decision-making
  • Precision in action
  • Acting when it matters most
  • Opportunity, not delay

For insurance, Kairus Risk Managers represents:

  • Recognizing the moment when traditional coverage fails
  • Engineering solutions with intention and innovation
  • Acting quickly, thoughtfully, and decisively
  • Creating balance between risk, cost, and protection

“Kairus Risk Managers is the moment you stop navigating risk blindly—and start solving it with purpose.”

Founder’s Story

Coming from a career in public education, Bryan Jurrens is focused on service, advocacy, community support, and guiding others through uncertainty. As a teacher, coach, and school leader, he learned that the most important work starts with listening, understanding, and empowering people with knowledge.

Today, that same mission continues through insurance:

“I entered this industry not to sell policies, but to solve problems for organizations and communities in moments where the market no longer provides clear answers. Kairus Risk Managers is my commitment to ensuring businesses, schools, public and service organizations have access to innovative insurance solutions built at the right time for the risks they face today—and tomorrow—even when budgets are constrained.”
